About
AutoChain is my first VST plugin, and origionaly inspired by VR's Ring-mod sidechain tutorial. For a better understanding of how Ring-mod sidechain works, check out his video on the topic.
FAQ
Common questions about AutoChain, ring-mod sidechaining, and getting started.
How do I configure AutoChain in my DAW?
AutoChain uses an external input for triggering the volume shaper and applying the ring-mod.
Each DAW routes sidechain audio differently. See the DAW setup guides for step-by-step instructions:
Why can't I hear any audio from the plugin?
When AutoChain detects an identical audio signal on the main and sidechain inputs, it mutes the output and displays a warning icon in the top left corner of the plugin.
Please make sure you have configured the plugin correctly for your DAW, see the above FAQ for more information.
Does AutoChain work on Linux?
No, AutoChain is currently not supported on Linux.
If you are using Linux, send me an email so I can gauge interest and I will look into adding support in the future.
I found a bug or have a feature request.
Please send me an email at [email protected] with the subject AutoChain Bug Report or AutoChain Feature Request and I will do my best to help you out.
For bug reports, please provide as much detail as possible, including the version of AutoChain you are using, the DAW you are using, and the steps to reproduce the issue.
Does AutoChain work in Logic Pro?
Logic Pro only supports the AU plugin format, and AutoChain is currently only available as a VST3 plugin.
I am actively working on adding support for Logic Pro, and will update this FAQ when it is available.
